Four bodies, known as the Grays, were recovered. From that moment on, everything you think to be true about American history has been influenced by that event. On February 17, 1962, another event occurred, related to the first, but one that has, until now, been kept completely suppressed. You are being trusted with that secret.

In 1996, television audiences were introduced to John Loengard (Eric Close) and Kimberly Sayers (Megan Ward), two heroic freedom fighters charged with the unearthly task of protecting humanity against an alien infestation known as the Hive while showing us, through thei… More >>

20th century history as we know it is a lie. Aliens have been among us since the 1940′s, but a government cover-up has prevented the public from knowing this. As the series progresses, we follow John Loengard and Kim Sayers as they attempt to thwart numerous plans of the alien Hive, most of which are tied to historical events and figures. In addition, the pair must stay one step ahead of a covert government agency, Majestic-12, tasked with fighting the aliens while maintaining the conspiracy of silence.
I had given up hope that this series would ever be released on DVD. Unfortunately, at the time it first aired, I think a lot of people assumed it was a cheap attempt to cash in on the popularity of the then red-hot X-FILES, and so never even gave it a chance.Trust me, those of you who have never seen the series, the producers really did their homework and incorporated all of the well-known lore and conspiracy theories regarding UFOs. Beginning with the Roswell, NM “saucer crash” in 1947 and working its way logically up to the early 1960s, the series ably matched established UFO history with actual recorded history to create a believable fictionalized chronology. You don’t have to be a “believer” to enjoy this, but if you are you will truly appreciate the way this series “gets it right”. Believers and non-believers alike will enjoy the many appearances by historical personalities in nearly every episode.

Another thing, X-FILES was all over the map with its conspiracies and paranormal phenomena, whereas DARK SKIES wisely concentrates exclusively on UFO lore and its attendant conspiracies. This makes the whole series much more coherent when viewed as a whole. The overall impression is that X-FILES, which I really enjoyed when it started, became a victim of its own success, with on-again/off-again subplots that ultimately never hung together. It’s as if the producers, once the show went beyond their initial premise, were just throwing stuff against the wall to see what would stick.

DARK SKIES, on the other hand, despite its mere 18 episodes (plus the initial 2-hour pilot), really hangs together well in retrospect. It’s too bad this couldn’t have continued another season or two, to more fully flesh-out the concept, but what we got is quite satisfying in itself. I am looking forward to watching this again after far too long a wait.

Grey Skies: The Alien Conspiracy Grey Skies: The Alien Conspiracy

Description:Earth is in a continuing battle between two alien invading species, the Greys and the Morphs, with mankind caught in the middle. The Morphs, who want to preserve the planet, have their mysterious goal while the Greys are blatant in wanting nuclear destruction for all. Here are the stories of several individuals caught in their paths… Color
Running Time: 65 min…. More >>

The Earth has become a three way battlefield between humans trying to defend against two different alien species bent on taking charge of the planet. The Greys are an alien race who want to destroy the earth in a nuclear blast while the Morphs want to preserve the planet for their own purposes. Meanwhile, several fellow Earthlings are doing what they can to protect our troubled planet.
There’s low budget movie-making, no budget movie-making, there’s guerrilla movie-making, and, somewhere even lower than that, ‘baboon’ film-making*.

And then there’s The Alien Conspiracy: Grey Skies.

After a straight to camera prologue setting the ‘background’ story about some long-waged war between alien species fought out in current day America, there follows a series of shots (to call it a ‘montage’ would debase the word) of Saturn rockets taking off that looks like it was shot by pointing a camera at a TV screen. After that three, totally unrelated, short movies punctuated by irrelevant literary quotes. All are so shoddily made and badly shot that sometimes the only things visible on screen are the smears on the camera lens.

There are a few minor amusing moments here, but nothing that any hour of amateur improv wouldn’t supply and none are worth the pain of watching the rest of the show.

The only thing to be said in favour of this miserable excuse for a movie is that it makes the average Asylum product look like a masterpiece.

Alien Predators 4 Movie Pack

Killers From Space Atomic scientist Doug Martin is missing after his plane crashes while on an investigatory mission after a nuclear test. Showing up at the base later he is given sodium pentothal after being caught in espionage activities. For some reason no one believes him as he relates how he was captured by aliens who plan on conquering Earth by using giant animals and insects.Runtime: 71 minutes: Little Shop of HorrorsClassic black comedy about a young schnook who develops a bloodthirsty plant and is forced to kill in order to feed it. Directed by Roger Corman this film was the basis for the later hit stage musical. Interestingly enough Jack Nicholson plays a small role in this classic horror film.

Alien Predators is a mixed bag for sure! Disc #1- Side A- The sci-fi classic DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS (beware, some later editions of this collection have replaced triffids with the lesser “killers from space”). Giant carnivorous plants attempt to take over the world after blinding the vast majority of the populace (with a strange meteor shower). Can a small band of sighted heroes save the day? Side B- LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. All about a giant carnivorous plant (named Audrey Junior) and the boy who loves it. A Roger Corman masterpiece! Disc #2- Side A- GRAVEYARD TRAMPS (aka: INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS). Mutated “Bee girls” attempt to take over the world by… um… er… well, mating their male victims to death. Meanwhile, the head Bee girl is busy making her hive bigger. Lotsa nudity and laughs a plenty! Side B- TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST. A lunkhead gets beaned by a meteorite, which turns him into a murderous, reptilian psychopath. His girlfriend sticks by him anyway. Will true love prevail? A schlock fest. This double disc is definitely worth the cheap price!

Directed by: SCOTT HARPER Written by: DAVID MICHAEL LATT
Starring: WILLIAM KATT, DEDEE PFEIFFER, RANDY MULKEY

This proves Theasylum knows their product well. Really well done with a budget to make you curious, Special props to Randy Mulkey. Yes,Its one of those similar to a fault features that LATT does so well,BUT,This could be a TV pilot for AVP.If LARRY BUCHANAN was still plying his craft. The make-up/costumes of titled characters.

The Alien is an awesome image and moved well, The Hunter had a very different look than one would assume…Kind of like TETSUO. The cast-William Katt was fun,But not any where near a heroic performance. DeDee Pfeiffer,This was first time Ive seen her, Quite a firecracker throughout .Randy Mulkey was just exactly perfect for his part, Latt use him more! So,The box cover WONT trick you into watching.

DVD features Billy Jayne (Actor), Judy Landers (Actor).

This is a big time cheesy 80′s movie, but I’m sure if you like stuff like that I do, this is a good investment. It’s also got a little T&A which I’m sure can’t hurt at all.

Evil Aliens

51CVjb5pRyL. SL160 Evil Aliens

If you thought you’d seen it all, brace yourself for this jaw-dropping slice of sci-fi horror lunacy that has audiences rolling and gagging in the aisles! Gruesome mutilations, inappropriate body probes and pointy weapons ranging from sports gear to chainsaws populate this gore-drenched, splatstick classic of giddy alien mayhem, the successor to Aliens, Phantasm, Bad Taste and The Evil Dead.

Looking for a hot new story, struggling Weird Worlde TV reporter Michelle Fox totes her crew to Wales where residents of a small farming town are reporting alien abductions and impregnations. Unfortunately, their dramatic recreation of the suspicious event turns downright nasty when the real interstellar visitors arrive, and they’r.

This movie is unbelievably cool & gory as all get out! Anyone who’s ever enjoyed silly type slapstick horror titles such as “Evil Dead 2″, “Army Of Darkness”, “Undead”, “Dead Alive”, “Shaun Of The Dead” Shaun still did it best hands down) or “Feast” will get a swift kick outta this film. Nothing you really need to know plot wise other than there’s a show that does investigative reporting in Europe about Aliens & UFO’s. A silly rag tag group is assembled to go investigate an Alien abduction. And then just lots of blood, guts, more blood, & more guts. There’s more to it than that, but not to spoil things, that’s all you’ll need to know going in. If you’ve ever enjoyed any of the films I listed above watch this movie, it’s destined to be a classic & you’ll love every minute of it!

The Alien Legacy

51707GZPTVL. SL160 The Alien Legacy

An interesting feature of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection, worth watching together if only for the chance to see how different directors handle essentially the same idea. The results are decidedly mixed. Ridley Scott’s Alien is the most traditional of the bunch, essentially a haunted-house picture set on a space freighter, where a monster is picking off crew members one by one.

James Cameron’s Aliens is the all-out adrenaline bath, a pulse-pounding action thriller from start to finish. It plays a little like a Western in outer space, where the settlers are waiting for a cavalry that never comes–and the Indians are acid-veined aliens. And David Fincher’s Alien 3 is the rock-video version.

You’re not reading this for a critical review of the movies; if you haven’t seen the movies, you’ve been living under a rock for the last 20 years (in which case you should rent them, then buy this set). You’re reading this because you want to know if this set is worth owning.

Yes, yes, and yes. Simply put, this is the best usage of DVD to date. Picture quality and sound are outstanding, and that’s just the beginning. What makes these discs shine is all the attention that was put into the extra goodies on the discs themselves. Pop in the Aliens disc, and the menu is as if you’re watching one of the Marines’ helmet cameras, investigating the lost colony. Put in Alien and you’ll be traveling down the famous claustrophobia corridors of the Nostromo choosing your options. After seeing these you’ll take a different point of view on a lot of your other DVD’s, once you witness how good they could have been but aren’t.

On these discs there’s deleted footage, commentaries, theatrical trailers, making-of documentaries, and too much more to name here (although, if you once owned the Aliens laserdisc, there isn’t quite all the stuff there was on that version, like Cameron’s script drafts and other written material).

A feast for fans. The best DVD purchase I’ve ever made, and a rediscovery of the old Alien magic. Highly recommended.

UFOs 1973: Aliens Abductions & Extraordinary Sightings

51Dfh8 8wvL. SL160 UFOs 1973: Aliens Abductions & Extraordinary Sightings

1973 was a tumultuous year filled with news of Watergate, the Vietnam War and many other historical events. UFO sightings were on the increase culminating in abductions and extraordinary sightings through the fall of 1973. Unparalleled UFO encounters and Alien Visitation s occurred worldwide during the most extraordinary UFO Flap of all time.

The number of UFO reports was unprecedented during this landmark year, among them are many of the most documented cases of all time. UFO s 1973 Film takes you inside the Pascagoula Incident, the Charlie Hickson case, the Iran Pilot sighting, the Coyne case, the Jeffery Greenhaw case, and many more from around the world where in this landmark year.

The existence of aliens has forever been a highly debated (and highly controversial) topic within society. Many refuse to consider the possibility of life beyond what they know. Others are certain that there is far more to the galaxies than what has been seen. And there are more still who straddle the gray area between, not yet ready to follow either philosophy.

“UFOs 1973: Aliens, Abductions and Extraordinary Sightings” may help to sway their opinions.

The film offers an examination of 1973, a year filled to extraordinary events–such as the famed Pascagoula Case, which serves as its most interesting tale and charts the fates of shipyard workers Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker, who were supposedly abducted. Through extensive interviews, photographic evidence and more, “UFOs 1973″ seeks to explore these experiences and prove their validity. Do they succeed? The viewer will have to decide but there can be no denying that a compelling argument is made.

For those wishing for more than the common conspiracies this will prove ideal.

Predators

51MbWvJM NL. SL160 Predators

Robert Rodriguez presents Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe. Adrien Brody stars as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors mysteriously brought together on a jungle planet. But when these cold-blooded human “predators” find themselves in all-out war against a new breed of alien Predators, it’s the ultimate showdown between hunter and prey.

Executive producer Robert Rodriguez (Grindhouse, Spy Kids) is the driving force behind this energetic reboot of the popular Predator films, which pits the dreadlocked alien hunters against a rogues’ gallery of human antiheroes, led by a bulked-up Adrien Brody. The Oscar winner acquits himself nicely in .

“Predators” is back to basics return for the “Predator” franchise, they have juggled the elements that made the first film successful but couldn’t seem to get right for the sequel or the “Alien vs. Predator” movies. “Predators” starts with the original premise of the first movie. Eight people of different ethnicities (if not occupations) are thrown into a living green hell of a jungle except they all don’t know how they got there or where they are. The only thing they’re sure of is that they were involved in some war, they saw a light and the next thing they remember is waking up as they fell into the jungle.

As the eight get to know each and their surroundings, “Predators” relies on the camaraderie of the individuals and the stress of the situation for each character to reveal themselves to each other and the audience, and they discover every one may not be what they seem. There’s also a nice bit of gallows humor to lighten the moments and was one of the things that gave the original “Predator” some of it’s charm.

The predators have some new toys including the spiky dogs, and we learn there are two different kinds of predators, the standard one we’re used to seeing is the smaller of the species and are hunted by the larger super-predator when no other game is available.

One bit of casting I was worried about was Topher Grace, the geeky Eric Forman of “That 70′s Show,” he seemed miscast or ill fitted for Eddie Brock in “Spiderman 3,” and here he’s the one element that doesn’t fit, but he isn’t supposed to, and he looks right for the part and delivers a role that at first looks like a straightforward but has some twists. Laurence Fishburne does a near-cameo as Noland, a soldier marooned on the planet and who may be from the Vietnam era, I think he hums a bit of Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” used to such great effect in Apocalypse Now.

I at first thought “Predators” was directed by Robert Rodriquez and that was one of the reasons I was looking forward to seeing the movie. I was a little disappointed that Rodriquez only produces, but this movie does incorporate some of the feel of a movie directed by Rodriquez but that may be because “Predators” is based on a screenplay Rodriguez wrote sixteen years ago . Directing is Nimrod Antal and he moves the movie tautly along never veering off course or too far off course, and he does add some visual artistry that hasn’t been seen in any of the previous movies but gives us a sense of the alieness of the world the characters find themselves trapped on.

“Predators” is conscious of the events of the first “Predator” movie and the climatic battle is a tweaked version that is an homage to Arnold’s battling of the predator while building on some of the inferred weaknesses of the predators. “Predators” is a good telling of a “Predator” story, using bits of the original and adding its own devices to the “Predator” mythology.
